Microsoft’s Power Apps program is a universal forms designer that runs in the browser, making it capable of deploying on Windows, Android, IOS, OSX, and other operating systems. Power Apps allows companies to build interfaces tied to inventory control systems, purchasing, accounting, and sales systems. The forms streamline data input by allowing data capture with mobile devices, data validation, and GUI interfaces. Because Power Apps is built on the Microsoft platform, it can interface and exchange data with other sources.
Power Automate (previously know as Microsoft Flow) ties together the business processes and rules to route data throughout your organization. Organizations can set up a series of rules about how the data should flow through the organization and then design a Power Automate flow that moves the data accordingly. For example, you need to check an invoice submitted to see if it is over a specific limit? Power Automate can check, and if it is, it can divert the invoice to management for approval before submitting the invoice to order processing. If it is below the limit, it can direct the order directly to order processing. Once received by order processing, separate copies of the order can be routed to accounting, inventory, and shipping to complete the order.
Microsoft AI algorithms are subroutines that allow solution builders to leverage some of Microsoft’s most advanced research for their Power Platform solutions. Using machine learning and artificial intelligence routines, Microsoft can add functionality that includes:
- Knowledge Mining: The AI can uncover latent insights from your documents, images, and media. The AI can understand the sentiment, extract key phrases, and more.
- Natural Language Understanding Forms Recognizer: Extract data from forms in type and handwritten data.
- BOTS: Build a chatbot that understands interactions and can connect with backend systems to assist employees, customers, and vendors.
- Computer Vision: having AI see an image and describe the contents for meta-tagging.
- Counting Objects: having the AI count the number of similar items in a photo or video.
- Translation: The AI can translate both written and spoken words in real-time into multiple languages.
